Best Weapons in Fire Emblem Engage, ranked

Not all weapon types are created equally.

Most of the powerful weapons in Fire Emblem Engage are wielded by the Emblems. Some ordinary buyable weapons can have just as much impact on gameplay, though. It can be tough to spread out Emblems to all of a player's units, so a smart player should always know the best ordinary weapons for units that don't have Emblems to boost their performance.

Which are the best Weapons in Fire Emblem Engage?

10. Javelin

All Fire Emblem games, Fire Emblem Engage included, rewards players who use range to their advantage. This is why the Javelin is among the best early-game tools. While it isn't the strongest weapon, fast characters like Chloe can use Javelins to double and potentially KO mages, enemies behind walls, etc.

9. Ridersbane

The Sigurd Emblem makes a huge impression when he becomes usable in Chapter 4 of Fire Emblem Engage. Players shouldn't forget, though, that they can buy a Ridersbane in the Somniel at any time. The Ridersbane naturally has about as much Might as a Steel Lance, but it's mostly used for effective damage against Cavalry.

8. Killing Edge

Almost every weapon type has a "killer" weapon with a high Crit rate. The Killing Edge stands out among these because Sword users are so dodgy in Fire Emblem Engage. Especially when paired with Marth's Emblem, Sword users can dodge incoming attacks and respond with critical hits, essentially taking no damage and dishing out kills.

7. Spear

The Spear is essentially the Javelin's stronger, bigger brother. With 12 Might, it's one of the game's strongest 1-2 range weapons. Spears are also much more accurate than Tomahawks, which are 1-2 range Axes.

6. Longbow

Most Bows are valuable because they can attack melee units without counterattacking. What about opposing Bow users, though? The Longbow becomes a powerful tool against range threats with its 2-3 range. As a result, they allow characters like Etie and Alcryst to stay really safe.

5. Thoron

Thoron is essentially the magic version of the Longbow. At 18 Might, though, Thoron also out-damages the Longbow quite easily. In the hands of Celine or Citrinne, Thoron can be the most powerful chip damage tool.

4. Levin Sword

Robin's favorite sword from Fire Emblem Awakening makes a triumphant return in Fire Emblem Engage. Thankfully, Magic users can promote to the Mage Knight class, which is proficient in Magic and Swords. Therefore, they can use Levin Sword's 13 Might almost immediately.

3. Meteor

Meteor is a spell that has an enormous range (3-7 spaces). Normally, this spell is balanced out by having very small uses. In Fire emblem Engage, though, weapon durability doesn't exist. Players can stay in spawn and fire as many Meteors as they want.

2. Brave Axe

Brave weapons, in general, are always valuable since they always attack twice. The tradeoff is that they have low Might, which makes the Brave Axe specifically valuable as Axes have higher Might generally. This weapon is also great for characters like Jade and Panette, who have trouble double attacking without help.

1. Radiant Bow

This powerful weapon is easy to miss. When players reach the Solm Palace map, though, they definitely want to visit the Chest Room in the upper right corner. This is home to the Radiant Bow, a 19 Might magic-based Bow. It's worth it to chance a Magic-based character to something like Sniper just to use this powerful tool.
