The Chosen One.

With May 4 — better known as Star Wars day — almost upon us, it makes sense a collaboration with Fortnite is in the cards. Epic Games has gotten the ball rolling with a teaser image showing off Anakin Skywalker, a long-awaited skin that has fans and non-fans alike giddy for what's to come.

Star Wars collaborations are a lot of fun in Fortnite as it usually means the return of the lightsaber, a weapon that can cut through builds and other players with swiftness. Of course, that's not everybody's cup of tea, but it's tough to deny they are fun to play around with for a day or two.

Anakin Skywalker coming to Fortnite in Star Wars crossover

With characters like Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Rey, and several others already in Fortnite, it's only right for Anakin to eventually be added, and he'll be arriving with the next collaboration.

Prominent Fortnite leaker HYPEX says Anakin won't be the only addition, either, and players will have Mythic weapons and Force powers to look forward to on top of new skins. It's certainly an exciting time for Fortnite and Star Wars fans alike, and it'll be well worth jumping back into if you're a lapsed player.

When does the Fortnite x Star Wars crossover begin?

Epic Games didn't give a release date for the crossover, but with the next Fortnite update expected to arrive on May 2, it's likely it'll begin then. At the very least, that's when we should get more information from leakers about the event, as the collaboration should be added to the game files then.
