Shield Kegs are a new item just introduced to Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, and already they are proving to be an invaluable item for teams looking to keep themselves topped up shields. How exactly are they used? Read on!
Shield Kegs are a deployable item in Fortnite, similar to Tents. Instead of storing items, however, Shield Kegs spray out shield-regeneration spray in a radius around the keg, restoring shields for any player they touch. Yes, this includes opponents.
Each Shield Keg has enough juice to bring players' shields from 0 to 100. Unfortunately, they cannot be picked up once placed, but they can be destroyed once players have finished with them so other players do not try to take advantage of a Keg that is still spraying.
Shield Kegs can be found on the ground, in Chests, and in Supply Drops. They are also currently available for purchase from Lt. John Llama and The Scientist.
The latest healing items introduced in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1 are proving to be extremely versatile and are changing the meta of the game in drastic ways.
