But he's reappeared and will be available as a free reward for everyone, but how do you exactly get Xander for free in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3?
How to unlock Xander in Fortnite
Xander will be part of the new Fortnite Refer a Friend promotion to bring new or long-lost players back to the Battle Royale. All you need to do is recruit new and old friends to return to the game for a few hours in an allotted time frame. The more you bring back, the more rewards you will get.

Follow these steps to get Xander through the Refer a Friend promotion:
- Head to the Refer a Friend website, and sign in to your Epic Games Account, the one you use to play Fortnite
- Once logged in, refer an unknown number of people to return to the Battle Royale.
- To qualify as a referee, the player must have less than 120 minutes of playtime in Fortnite in the past 30 days.
- To get rewards you do must the following in the table below:
