Here's all of the goodness revealed at The Game Awards 2021!

The Game Awards were great to watch, and they also provided announcements for some major releases coming within the next year or two. Some were release dates for games we were already expecting, and some are completely new titles to be excited about!

The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience

Keanu Reeves made a glorious return to the gaming stage alongside Carrie-Anne Moss to reveal a new game! The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is available for free on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S!

This is in anticipation of the newest Matrix film coming out, but it was still great to see the Johnny Silverhand actor back amongst the gaming crowd!

Star Wars: Eclipse

Fear no longer if you were starting to get withdrawal symptoms from your Star Wars gaming collection! Star Wars: Eclipse is the newly announced installment that is a collaboration between Lucasfilm Games and Quantic Dream (who made Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human).

Much like Quantic's other games, this title will also be a "multiple-character branching narrative game," meaning we can expect Detroit: Become Human but in the world of Star Wars! It is in early development but will definitely be one to look out for.

Alan Wake 2

Remedy fans were excited when Alan Wake was remastered this last quarter, but it has been revealed that the story doesn't stop there! Alan Wake 2 is in production.

Remedy's Sam Lake has stated that the game is a "pretty scary experience," meaning that if you take the original Alan Wake and dial it up a notch with those Energizer batteries, you're probably in for a frightening time… but in a good way.

It is due to be released in 2023.

Wonder Woman: The Game

It has been announced that Wonder Woman will finally have her turn at being in the gaming spotlight. WB Games (Warner Brothers) treated us to a trailer for the game, made by Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War's Monolith Productions.

There was no release date for this one, but it is definitely in the works.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the Batman Arkham games, are back again with a Suicide Squad title. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have you playing as Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and Deadshot, so you can wreak havoc on those do-gooders!

The was no exact release date, but the game will be coming in 2022.

Steelrising

Ever wondered how things could have gone differently in the French Revolution? Steelrising will give you the chance to experience just that. A new trailer was showcased at The Game Awards depicting King Louis XVI with an army of robots! Thrilling stuff.

Halo: The TV Series

Years ago, a Halo movie tried to make it off the ground but never quite managed to see the light of day. Now, Master Chief finally comes to life in the live-action Halo series coming to Paramount+.

Pablo Schreiber from Orange is the New Black and Weeds will be taking up the mantle of the 8 foot Chief. The show will be hitting the Paramount streaming service in 2022.

Hellblade 2: Senua's Saga - Giant Siege

We have now learned that Senua's story is not over! The gameplay trailer for Hellblade 2 was revealed and showed Senua leading a charge against a Giant at the same time as overcoming the voices from the first game.

Ninja Theory's game is well-anticipated due to the success of the original Hellblade but has not got a release date as of yet.

Forspoken

Forspoken is an upcoming title from Square Enix. It includes their time-tested magic formula but also twins it with parkour elements.

It is one you will be able to put in your calendars as it is slated for release on May 24, 2022.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Amongst some brand new reveals, we also saw a new gameplay trailer for the new Horizon game. It looks just as impressive as ever!

Sonic Frontiers

Get your running shoes on in preparation for a new Sonic game. Frontiers is going to be an "Open-Zone" adventure. The only thing we currently know is that this one will be set in the Starfall Islands, but we will keep you updated when we know more!

It is slated for release in the Holiday season of 2022.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Movie

If you enjoyed the Sonic movie in 2020, you would be happy to know a second one is coming along. This one also has Knuckles and Tails (formally known as Miles "Tails" Prower) in the mix! It was presented at TGA by Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz.

Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC

Cuphead finally gets its last piece of gameplay with the upcoming The Delicious Last Course DLC. Players will be able to traverse through Inkwell Isle and play as a new character called Ms. Chalice!

It is due for release on June 30, 2022.

Star Trek: Resurgence

For the Trekkies, TGA held a nice surprise when former Telltale Games staff from the newly formed Dramatic Lab revealed a new Star Trek game. Resurgence will take place shortly after the Star Trek: The Next Generation show, meaning fans of the series will be able to experience the plotline from the series!

It will be launching on consoles and PC in 2022.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Telltale Games themselves also appeared with a new game which will be the prequel story to the TV series The Expanse. Deck Nine of Life is Strange: Before the Storm and True Colors will also collaborate on it.

Get ready to go beyond the belt and play as Cara Gee's Camina Drummer!

A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Innocence was a well-received game from 2019, and thankfully we get to continue the adventure with the French siblings. A Plague Tale: Requiem allows us to pick up the story of Amicia and Hugo not long after where the first game ended.

Players can expect to continue the narrative in 2022.

Dune: Spice Wars

The books have been a big hit, and they have even had a film made out of them, but now is time for a game adaptation! The popular novel Dune dips its toes into the gaming world with Spice Wars made by Shiro Games.

Watch out for it on PC in 2022.

Slitterhead

For people looking for more Silent Hill-esque scares, then look no further! Silent Hill creator Keiichrio Toyama has revealed a new horror game called Slitterhead by his new studio Bokeh. Let's just say it definitely looks scary…

Among Us VR

Among Us took the world by storm in 2020, and now it has set its sights on the VR world. Although a release date is unknown, it will be coming to PlayStation VR, Steam, and MetaQuest 2.

Saints Row Reboot

The new Saints Row got another look in at TGA by showing off a new gameplay trailer. Previous players will be used to all of the shenanigans they can cause, but the reboot definitely takes increased chaos as a challenge!

The game will be available on Aug. 23, 2022.

Nightingale

Inflexion Games have created a new survival crafting game set in the Victorian era. The dev team, which consists of ex-Bioware staff, have been working on this first-person fantasy combat game and have stated it is set for release on PC in 2022.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is one of the games on this list that can be expected relatively soon. At The Game Awards, another trailer was shown, which has made us all the more excited for her adventures!

It is going to be released on March 26, 2022.

CrossfireX

Smilegate revealed its upcoming first-person shooter would be released in Q1. CrossfireX will be a single-player campaign game developed by Remedy, the same studio behind Alan Wake and Control.

It will be yours for the taking on February 10, 2022.

Monster Hunter Rise - Sunbreak Expansion

Monster Hunter Rise got the DLC treatment with the announcement of Sunbreak. The footage was shown at TGA, which revealed a new monster, a new hub town, and some new NPCs to get to know on your quest!

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Final Fantasy VII Intergrade will be welcomed onto PCs in practically no time at all! It was originally released in May 2021 and was scheduled to be a PS5 exclusive for six months. Now that the time has passed, Intergrade will be available on Epic Games Store on Dec. 16, 2021.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 will be gracing our screens soon after a little bit of waiting time. At TGA, a new trailer was showcased, demonstrating the terrifying, new environment that is chock full of infected just waiting to be bludgeoned.

You will be able to continue the parkour-oriented zombie adventure on Feb. 4, 2022.

RUMBLEVERSE

Looking for a new battle royale title to add to your collection? Then you'll most likely be looking forward to Rumbleverse. Be amongst 40 players that enter a map and duke it out melee style! As is the case with battle royale games, the last one standing wins.

You will also be in safe hands as this one is made by Iron Galaxy and Epic Games.

Warhammer Space Marine 2

Focus Home Interactive and Saber Interactive announced that Warhammer Space Marine is back with its second entry after a decade's long hiatus. Titus returns as captain of the Ultramarines, and a new storyline will unfold for players to experience.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen

You may have noticed Destiny 2 disappear off of Game Pass for the time being. This is due to an anniversary edition and a new DLC coming in 2022. The Witch Queen trailer was showcased at TGA and will undoubtedly be an exciting add-on for fans of the series!

Its official release date is Feb. 2, 2022.

Tunic

Tunic is an isometric action game that has finally received a release date. Play as a fox in a Zelda-like game full of adorableness!

It is slated for release March 16, 2022.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Persona's spinoff arena game will be coming to PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has your favorite characters return with the likes of Yukiko, Teddie, Chie, and others.

Watch out for it on the storefronts March 17, 2022.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - The Untold Story

Ready for another Lord of the Rings installment? At The Game Awards, it was revealed that the upcoming game would go more into the story of Gollum in an untold story feature.

Player Unknown Battlegrounds

PUBG, the well-known battle royale game and competitor to Fortnite, revealed that it would also adopt the free-to-play model. As of Jan. 12, 2022, the price will disappear from PC and consoles.

There will be the option for a one-off payment of $12.99 that will allow players access to Ranked Mode and extra features that are not available in the free version.

Babylon's Fall

Platinum Games showcased Babylon's Fall, which will be released in Q1 of 2022. Players will take control of a Sentinel warrior bonded to Gideon Coffins, a special form of equipment. It will require constant Internet access to play.

Its launch date is March 3, 2022.

Metal: Hellsinger

Metal: Hellsinger - Gods of Metal also got a trailer at The Game Awards. The rhythm shooter that includes bands such as Trivium, Arch Enemy, and Soilwork will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Expect this game in 2022.

Tchia

Yes, Tchia, not Chia! In this upcoming game inspired by New Caledonia, you will soul jump into animals. So, we suppose there is a slight pet element to it, but it's still not a Chia pet game. A trailer for this title was shown at TGA.

Look out for it in Spring 2022.

Thirsty Suitors

Annapurna and Today have revealed a new skating dating game called Thirsty Suitors! Delve into your protagonist's past, and figure out how to manage family life whilst dating and skating. We mean, they go hand in hand, don't they?

Have a Nice Death

A lovely name, isn't it? This roguelike is a hand-drawn, 2D action game that also dabbles in the genre of workplace comedy. It will be available on Steam and also names Sébastien Bénard as a consultor on the game, making Dead Cells.

Somerville

Somerville also dropped a new trailer at The Game Awards. A new sci-fi game that is being developed by Jumpship Studio and the founders of Limbo and Inside's Playdead.

Planet of Lana - An Off-Earth Odyssey

This is another sci-fi title to look forward to. It is an adventure game that is from the studio Wishfully, and it also includes music from Takeshi Furukawa, who composed the soundtrack for The Last Guardian!

It is expected in 2022.

King of Fighters XV

A new fighter was revealed at TGA named Krohnen. If that wasn't enough, it was also announced that the new character would have a second open beta of PS4 and PS5, so you can get to try him out ahead of time!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Online Multiplayer Horror Game

If you have been waiting for a new horror game like Friday the 13th, you are in luck. The classic horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is getting a game adaptation. It will be an online multiplayer title created by Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham.

Homeworld 3

Homeworld has had quite a large break in between releases. Homeworld 2 was released nearly two decades ago. However, Homeworld 3 has been confirmed to be in the works, so long-time fans will be excited!

It is set to launch in Q4 of 2022.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt

Many fans of the original game are still waiting on Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, but until then, you will be happy to know that the name of Bloodhunt is releasing a battle royale version. It is free-to-play as well.

It is due to be released on PC and PS5 in Spring 2022.

Evil West

The newly announced third-person action game Flying Wild Hog trailer was shown. Always had a desire to take on and destroy vampiric hordes whilst becoming a Wild West superhero? Well, now you can!
