How to unlock Artifact slots in Gangs of Sherwood

Make some room for more precious Artifacts!

Artifacts can make you much more powerful during your missions, granting you special bonuses and effects. However, you only start with limited slots to place them in, so you'll want to unlock more.

You can find Artifacts in the hidden chests around the locations. If you find another Artifact and you can't seem to choose between the two, why not make room for both? Here's how.

How to equip more Artifacts in Gangs of Sherwood

When you come across a chest hidden in the mission area, it is likely to hold an Artifact. An Artifact works like a special bonus trait that you can equip to your character, giving them burn effects on attacks, enraging enemies, or even giving healing abilities. They can really help boost your power and take down enemies with ease.

Equipping an Artifact will place it into one of the four Artifact slots for your character. However, you'll only start with one of these slots available, and the others will show as locked. This will prohibit you from equipping more than one Artifact at a time and make you choose the better one between the two. There is a way to work around this, though, and that's by unlocking additional Artifact slots.

The Combat Trainer is the person you're going to want to see about unlocking those Artifact slots. However, you will only gain access to her once you progress through the missions and gain enough favour. People's favour is earned by freeing the villagers in cages, reaching checkpoints in the missions, or completing side quests.

Once the Combat Trainer is available, you'll find the tab Artifacts in her shop, where you'll be able to purchase additional slots. You will need to progress further to unlock these options as well, but you can earn them soon enough by working through your missions.

Can you keep your Artifacts after missions in Gangs of Sherwood?

Though your artifacts surely come in handy during a mission, unfortunately, those Artifacts cannot be carried over to the next mission. As soon as you return to the Major Oak HQ, you will lose those Artifacts and will have to find some more in the chests within the next area. There is always a chance you'll find the same Artifacts or perhaps something even more significant. It's all up to chance.
