On July 9, 2021, Dawei (Co-Founder of miHoYo) and the Genshin Impact Dev team will reveal details about the upcoming content in the game's heavily-anticipated new version, which is scheduled to arrive July 21, 2021. Along with the new region of Inazuma and its cast of characters, fundamental changes are being made to some of the game's features—and they're exciting ones.
Cross-Save Across Platforms
Previously, only Genshin Impact players using PC and mobile devices had access to cross-progression. According to Genshin Report, however, PlayStation users will be able to cross-save their game with the Version 2.0 update. Genshin Report also states that cross-save will be enabled for the Nintendo Switch once Genshin Impact becomes available to play on the portable console.
If the rumor is true, then Genshin Impact players will be able to safely carry over their progress from any device on which the game is available, starting July 21, 2021.
There are still no details on when Genshin Impact is be coming to Switch, but we'll be sure to let you know once more information is available.
Genshin Impact Cross-Play
Genshin Impact supports cross-play across all devices, so you're free to join up with friends in-game no matter which consoles are being used. If you're a PC player and your friend uses PlayStation, there should be no issues accessing co-op features and playing together.
