Genshin Impact best Yaoyao build guide – Weapons, Artifacts, & more!

Qiqi's friend has arrived.

As a polearm user, Yaoyao's addition to the Genshin Impact character roster means that the shortest characters have become a complete set. Every weapon available in the game has a tiny child to wield it. Yaoyao, however, won't be known for her attack damage but for the healing and support role she can play in many new Dendro teams.

Yaoyao's playstyle in Genshin Impact

Yaoyao's kit revolves around her little companion: Yuegui. Both her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst throw the device onto the field, which will subsequently throw out White Jade Radishes. These projectiles can either deal damage to enemies or heal teammates within a limited AoE. Yaoyao's healing abilities scale with her Max HP, so this stat should be optimized for maximum effect. One important thing to note is that while her Elemental Skill can be used for off-field healing and Dendro application, her Elemental Burst requires Yaoyao to stay on-field. This will need to be accounted for if you plan to include her Elemental Burst in rotations.

Best Weapons for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact

Yaoyao will use support polearms, such as the Favonius Lance and the Kitain Cross Spear. The Kitain Cross spear is a great choice for her, as it will not only help with Energy Regeneration, but its Elemental Mastery secondary stat is a nice boost to the damage of elemental reactions Yaoyao may trigger. If you want to solely focus on healing, using the three-star weapon Black Tassel is a perfectly viable option thanks to its HP% secondary stat.

Best Artifacts for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact

Yaoyao is fairly flexible with her artifact combinations. She can use almost any four piece or any two and two combinations of the following artifact sets: Deepwood Memories, Maiden Beloved, or Tenacity of the Millelith. Keep in mind that only one member per team should use the four piece Deepwood Memories set, as the four piece bonus Dendro Resistance Shred bonus will not stack. Because you have a variety of artifact set options, finding pieces with lots of HP%, EM, or a Circlet with a Healing Bonus main stat shouldn't be a problem.

Best Teammates for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact

Yaoyao will have a wide variety of teams she can support, but primarily she'll be found in teams that use the Quicken reaction. Pair her with either a Dendro Main DPS, such as Tighnari or Alhaitham, or Electro DPS characters, such as Keqing or Cyno. While she can be used in bloom teams as well, Hydro characters also tend to have an affinity for healing, so her usefulness may be more limited there.
