Genshin Impact surprises fans with Fontaine teaser & VA announcements ahead of V4.0

With only a few days left to the Version 3.8 update, Genshin Impact has rolled out its first teaser for the massive update coming in Version 4.0—a Fontaine teaser, introducing the nation's compelling cast of characters. The Overture Teaser: The Final Feast was posted on the game's official YouTube channel, showcasing a performance narrated by Lyney and Lynette. Later on, Arlecchino is seen pushing down cardboard cutouts of the two performers, indicating that she may be manipulating Fontaine from behind the scenes.

The primary theme of the teaser revolves around how everything in the nation of justice happens for show—and that the truth is hidden outside of plain sight. Fontaine's powerhouses are hinted to be in full control of everything happening in the tumultuous region, where even the courtroom is a mere spectacle. Additionally, players are introduced to the following characters and their respective voice actors:

Players are also treated to a more detailed look into Fontaine's aesthetic, which encompasses steampunk elements merged with architecture reminiscent of the Renaissance. The courtroom may look familiar to players of HoYoverse's detective otome game, Tears of Themis, which centers around the same theme. The teaser closes on a rather somber note, where the Hydro Archon, Furina, expresses her boredom, while Chief Justice Neuvillette chastises her for her behavior.
