Genshin Impact will start allowing players to Quick Start events in Version 2.6, reducing the prerequisite quest requirements

No more rushing Story Quests!

Genshin Impact's updates are carefully crafted to be sequential, which means that events are always released to align with Teyvat's current timeline. For example, Inazuma was first introduced as a closed-off nation of eternity—but the release of Raiden Shogun's second Story Quest abolished the Sakoku Decree, allowing Version 2.6's upcoming Irodori Festival to take place.

While this has kept Teyvat's story flowing, it has been incredibly frustrating for newer players, who often have to cram a multitude of quests to take part in the new events. But a new feature called the Quick Start button will put an end to the Story Quest rush.

According to the official Version 2.6 Update Notice (accessible through the Notice board in-game), the eligibility requirements for participating in the Hues of the Violet Garden event include completing Kamisato Ayato, Raiden Shogun, and Sangonomiya Kokomi's Story Quests. However, players can choose to click on a Quick Start button to skip these prerequisites, narrowing the eligibility requirement to the Inazuma unlocking quest, Ritou Escape Plan.

This change will be a huge quality-of-life upgrade for new players, as they no longer have to feel left out of all the new events. The change is expected to spill over to future updates, reducing the burden of Story Quests on the game's overall enjoyment.
