How to thaw all the shards 'In The Mountains' Quest

To thaw all the shards In The Mountains Quest in Genshin Impact, you have to explore the Dragonspine region for Iris. Then you'll be tasked with thawing out three shards in order to search deeper into this snowy region, as this will stop the powerful wind from hindering your progress.

In both locations, a mini-puzzle needs to be solved, as well as some heavy combat sections, but overly nothing too strenuous. Just remember to keep an eye on the Sheer Cold status effect, as if not will lead to your character's death.

Shard Location One

For this objective, you need to follow the blue plants, but to cut traveling short, the first shard is located hidden away in the Entombed City Outskirts. To get there swiftly, teleport to the Waypoint near Wyrmrest Valley, and the first location is just below it.

At this location, you will see a Warming Seelie that flies between five different pillars. This is extremely important, as this is the solution to the puzzle. However, to solve this puzzle, you need a Cryo user to freeze the pillars in the order the Seelie shows you. If you have forgotten the order or are impatient, we don't blame you. The order is in the image below.

Once the puzzle has been solved, the nearby Ruin Graders will come to life and attempt to murder you. Destroy these machines, but remember to keep warm using the Ruin Braziers outside the arena, as if you ignore the Sheer Cold effect, it will kill you. Upon the machine's death, the ice in the middle of this area will shatter, allowing you to dropdown. You need to find four pieces of Scarlet Quartz below to be able to smash the shard in the center. One down!

Shard Location Two

The second location is hidden at Starglow Cavern. Teleport to the Waypoint just to the west of where it says Starglow Cavern on the map. Close to the waypoint is a hole in the ground that leads you to a series of tunnels. Keep to the left and keep following it, and eventually, you will reach the second shard.

Once again, you need four Scarlet Quartz pieces to hit the shard four times to smash it. However, only three pieces are available. You have to complete a nearby time trial to find the fourth piece. This trial consists of killing enemies in a certain amount of allotted time. Complete that, buff yourself up using the fourth and final piece, and then smash the shard with the final blow!

Shard Location Three

This could be location one or three; it really depends, as this location is the Frostbearing Tree. Locate the Scarlet Quartz nearby and smash the ice, and the job is done!
