How to win the Trial Against Furina in Genshin Impact – Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur

The Genshin Impact Fontaine Archon Quest Chapter IV: Act I - Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur throws you into the messy world of the Opera Epiclese, wherein you must defend Lyney from being falsely accused of murder by the Hydro Archon herself. In the third segment of the quest (Lies Cast Shadows Under Gathered Lights), you'll play the role of Lyney's attorney in a trial against Furina.

I had a blast playing through all the mini-games in this trial, which are reminiscent of popular detective games, including HoYoverse's own Tears of Themis. If you're having trouble in any part of the trial, read on for a full walkthrough with all the answers to guarantee your win.

All Lyney Trial Answers in Refutation - Lyney's Actions in the Tunnel in Genshin Impact

Upon initiating the Refutation round against Furina, she will begin by stating her version of the series of events. Once done, you'll be able to refute each segment of her claims in order to build your version of the truth.

Select the statement "Lyney attacked Halsey" and click Identify Loopholes. Refute it using the evidence called Lyney's Statement. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

Next, select the statement "Lyney kidnapped Halsey" and click Identify Loopholes. Refute it using The Voice in the Oratrice Core Chamber. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

Once that's done, select the statement "Lyney knocked Cowell out" and click Identify Loopholes. Choose the evidence called The Young Lady's Clothes. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

When all three statements have been refuted, this segment will complete and Paimon will announce your version of the events.

Choose the Most Reasonable Evidence Based on the Question in Genshin Impact

Further into the trial, you need to show evidence to prove Lyney's location during the time of the murder. You'll be provided with the book containing all the evidence you previously collected during the investigation period of the quest. Select Strange Sound During the Magic Show to proceed.

All Answers in The True Culprit – Genshin Impact

In this segment, you need to use clues to build a hypothesis to uncover the identity of the true culprit who staged Cowell's murder. Since you're only provided thumbnails, I recommend clicking on each clue to know what they are, then selecting the following:

1. Gardes Investigation Report
2. The Magic Trick
3. The Young Lady's Clothes
4. The Deceased's Identity

After selecting all of the above, the trial will continue.

All Answers in Cowell's Plan and the Situation Inside the Tunnel – Genshin Impact

Part One

Likewise, you'll be asked to do another hypothesis-building round. This time, your goal is to prove there was an altercation in the tunnel. Select each thumbnail to know what clue they signify, then select the following to build your case:

1. The Deceased's Identity
2. Lyney's Statement
3. Strange Sound During the Magic Show
4. Anything (all remaining clues are wrong)

In this segment, only three clues will be correct, so select anything as the fourth clue and keep doing the same until all the incorrect clues have been exhausted. The game will trigger dialogue that will reveal the final clue.

Part Two

Now with more clues in your arsenal, you'll be given a second chance to build upon the same hypothesis. Since you have previously selected the first three clues, the MC will automatically include them in the roster. All you need to do is to choose the Broken Flower Vase to complete the round and proceed with the rest of the trial.

All Answers in Reconstruct the Criminal's plan – Genshin Impact

As the trial proceeds, you need to build another hypothesis to understand how the culprit was able to pull off their dissolution plan. Select each thumbnail to know what clue they signify, then select the following to build your case:

1. The Deceased's Identity
2. Audience-Side Magic Box Structure
3. "Water from the Primordial Sea"
4. Dropped Hook Rope

After selecting all of the above, the trial will continue.

All Answers in Refutation - Events in the Tunnel in Genshin Impact

Finally, at the last leg of the trial, you must gain the favor of the Oratrice. Furina will, once again, state her version of the events. In the first stage, you won't have any evidence to refute her claims, but let the story naturally progress, as the culprit will eventually reveal herself.

After the culprit reveals herself, you'll finally have enough evidence to refute Furina. Select the statement "Halsey dissolved" and click Identify Loopholes. Refute it using the evidence called Strange Sound During the Magic Show. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

Next, select the statement "Infighting Between Lyney and Cowell" and click Identify Loopholes. Choose the Broken Flower Vase as your evidence. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

Select the statement "Lyney knocked Cowell out" and click Identify Loopholes. You need to refute it using the evidence called The Young Lady's Clothes. Click on the Refute button to successfully change this part of the timeline.

Once you've refuted the three statements above, Paimon will help reconstruct the events leading up to the crime. The Oratrice will vote in favor of your side, finally revoking all accusations made against Lyney. You will win the trial and can proceed with the rest of the quest.
