With the release of every Genshin Impact nation comes the eventual release of its corresponding Archon. Furina, also known as the Hydro Archon Focalors, was met with great expectations, especially after her predecessors came and slayed with amazing kits that have remained useful throughout the years.
But is Fontaine's sweets-loving, over-dramatic Archon able to meet your expectations—just as Fontainians expected her to find a way to break the prophecy?
Genshin Impact Furina's kit, explained
Furina offers a jam-packed kit with the ability to apply Hydro, deal off-field damage, heal, buff the team, and align with both Pneuma and Ousia. She can switch between Pneuma and Ousia Reactions through her Charged Attack, and doing so affects her Elemental Skill.
Her Pneumia Elemental Skill summons a healing totem that heals nearby characters every few seconds, similar to Kokomi's jellyfish. It's not as useful as her Ousia Elemental Skill, where the brunk of her damage will come from. She summons three friends that consume a percentage of all allies' HP (only when above 50%) every time they attack.
Furina's Elemental Burst deals AoE Hydro Damage and offers a party-wide buff. It accumulates Fanfare stacks every time the party's HP increases and decreases, and offers a damage boost and Healing Bonus based on the total percentage of changing HP. The team can keep gaining bonuses as long as the team's HP is always over 50%—and the important damage boost can go up to about 75%.

Things to consider before pulling for Furina in Genshin Impact
As a Hydro off-field DPS with party buffs and the ability to act as an emergency healer, Furina already offers enough to make her worth spending your Primogems. Out of all the Archons, I find her to be the most versatile, as Hydro is a highly-utilized Element.
Additionally, Furina's Elemental Skill HP drain synergizes well with Artifacts and weapons that require the wielder to constantly increase and decrease HP to trigger passives (such as Marecheussee Hunter, Cashflow Supervision, Tome of the Eternal Flow). This quirk makes Furina the perfect off-field support for characters who wield these items.

However, the party-wide HP drain also means that Furina will always have to be paired with a party-wide healer for survivability. Then, to maximize her Elemental Burst, you would have to pay careful attention to the team's HP, ensuring it's always above 50% and always increasing and decreasing. I find myself constantly paying attention HP bars, so this nuance could be a turn-off if you hate HP management.
Also, if you're only pulling for Furina to take advantage of her damage buff, keep in mind that she can only buff Additive and Amplifying Reactions. She cannot buff Transformative Reactions. Reference the table below to help you make a decision:
Buffable by Furina | Not buffable by Furina |
---|---|
Melt | Overloaded |
Vaporize | Shattered |
Spread | Electro-Charged |
Aggravate | Superconduct |
Swirl | |
Burning | |
Bloom | |

Is Furina worth pulling for in Genshin Impact?
Personally, I think that Furina is a lot of fun to play. Objectively, she offers a dynamic and highly versatile kit easy to slot into most teams. Even with limitations on her buff, her ability to apply off-field Hydro Damage still makes her incredibly useful. If you're sick of seeing Xingqiu on every team, then Furina may be a great alternative.
Additionally, when her Elemental Skill is active, Furina can walk on water! So if you're a fan of unique exploration skills or are an Archon collector, then I strongly recommend spending your Primogems on Furina. If you're still unsure, don't worry, as most Archons rerun a few patches after their initial release, giving you some time to think before spending.
