Armor is an important part of combat in God of War. It can mean the difference between winning or losing a battle, especially when fighting high-difficulty bosses like the Valkyrie. While Kratos has three different armor pieces that each have their own tier system and benefits, Atreus only wears a single piece of armor. Atreus' wears a tunic throughout God of War and, with only one armor option, it is important to choose the right one.
Atreus' Best Armor
Atreus will start the game with the Tunic of Hope. This is the tunic that Atreus' mother gave him. As the game progresses, players will have more choice in Atreus' armor, but there are three main variations. The Fighter Tunic set, the Sharpshooter Garb set, and the Runic Vestment set. The descriptors in the armor's title explain what each set does. The Fighter set increases Atreus' melee and combat ability, the Sharpshooter set will increase Atreus' proficiency with his Talon Bow, and the Runic set will increase Atreus' ability with his Runic Summoning ability.
Each set has three tiers, a basic level, a superior level, and then the legendary level. The legendary level of each of the armor tiers is the best to go with, but which legendary piece to choose depends on how players wish to use Atreus in battle. If there is more reliance on his ranged-combat ability, players should choose the Sharpshooter Garb. If players love Atreus' Runic Summons, then the Runic Vestment is the best choice. Each legendary armor has its own perks and benefits, but any of the legendary pieces are the best to go with if players are looking for Atreus' best armor.
