Horizon Forbidden West is now available for PS4/PS5, and it has a range of machines divided by specific classes. Every machine class in Forbidden West has unique capabilities that allow them to perform according to their usefulness in the ecosystem.

The Recon class machines are designed to search for danger and alert nearby allies while sensing threats. These machines will be naturally hostile towards Aloy if they spot her. Usually, they alert Acquisition and Combat class machines close by, and players will come across five different Recon class machines in Horizon Forbidden West.

  • Burrower
  • Skydrifter
  • Longleg
  • Redeye Watcher
  • Tallneck

Aloy will have to fight all of the Recon class machines except the Tallneck. These machines carry players' resources to upgrade their weapons, pouches, and armor. Players can avoid them easily by hiding in the tall grass. Eliminating Recon class machines by Silent Kill will allow players to get past them easily. However, we recommend players fight these machines and harvest the best components as loot.
