Elden Ring puts a deep emphasis on world exploration and decision-making, all of which can culminate into one of the many possible endings a player can achieve. One of the darker endings to the game is the Lord of Frenzied Flame. It also happens to be one of the trickier ones to achieve.
In order to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame and subsume the world in an ever-raging fire, the player needs to go through a number of steps. The very first step is to find the Subterranean Shunning Grounds in the sewers located below Leyendell, The Royal Capital.
Subterranean Shunning Grounds Location
In order to enter the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, reach the part of the city that is covered by giant dragon wings, where you can find a well. Jump through the well to enter the sewers. You will now have to navigate your way to the bottom of the sewers until you find a metal elevator. Take the elevator down to reach a Lost Site of Grace.
Proceed after having rested at the Site of Grace, and traverse through the mist to face Mohg, The Omen. After defeating this boss, rest at the Sight of Grace before moving forward, as it will get quite tricky. Once Mohg is felled, walk up to the platform between the two statues, and hit the wall. The wall will then descend, revealing a new area.
This new area will require you to jump very carefully, all the way down. Use the protruding stone blocks at the edges of the walls to safely make your descent. Once at the bottom, the floor will fall through, revealing an imposing door and a Lost Site of Grace.
Unlock the Lord of Frenzied Flame Ending
Once you have found the Frenzied Flame Proscription, talk to Melina at the Sight of Grace. She will implore you to restrain from giving in to the Frenzied Flame. Do not pay heed to her warnings if you still wish to achieve this ending.
To pass through the door ahead, you must first unequip all your armor, weapons, and talismans. Then, interact with the door to open it. A cutscene will begin, where you will come face-to-face with the Three Fingers, who will embrace you and leave burn marks on your body.
After this cutscene is over, you will be locked into the Frenzied Flame ending, and no other endings can be achieved. After beating the final boss in the game, the Elden Beast, interact with the Fractured Marika statue, and choose Become Lord of Frenzied Flame to bring utter destruction to the world, and unlock the achievement "Lord of Frenzied Flame".
