Halo Infinite marks the return of one of Microsoft's most iconic characters: Master Chief. Spartan-117 is back to explore the mysterious Zeta Halo and save the galaxy again as he searches for his lost friend, Cortana.
Master Chief's age in Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite takes place in 2560, as evidenced by several of the story beats we know so far. Master Chief crash lands on the Zeta Halo in May of 2560, several years after Halo 5: Guardians. After several months missing, Master Chief was mistakenly declared dead in October of 2560. Master Chief was born March 7, 2511, meaning that he is 49 at the start of Halo Infinite.
These events set the stage for Spartan-117's journey on Zeta Halo in Halo Infinite, where he'll join forces with a new AI, taking on The Banished. This splinter cell of the Covenant led by Escharum now plans the demise of the human race.
