Halo Infinite is available on different platforms, namely Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The game is cross-platform and features cross-play between all platforms.
A game's cross-platform support lets players team up and compete against players regardless of the device they are playing on. For instance, you being on an Xbox console can play with your friend on PC. This also results in faster matchmaking since the player-base isn't disintegrated anymore.
However, this may be an issue for some players who believe one platform or input has an unfair advantage over another. While keyboard & mouse players complain about aim-assist on controllers, console users cannot withstand encounters with cheaters on PC.

Therefore, Halo Infinite Multiplayer lets you decide if you want cross-play enabled or not in its ranked playlist. Playing ranked matches and progressing requires serious effort and the developers don't want the players to feel deprived in any way.
While playing Ranked Arena, you can choose your input from two options—Keyboard/Mouse and Controller. With this option being limited to solos and duos only, players are now demanding that it be implemented in every game setting and mode.
