What is the Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Christmas event?

Holiday event incoming!

The Halo Infinite Winter Contingency Christmas event will run from Dec21st, 2021, to Jan 3rd, 2022, where players can earn holiday-themed rewards by playing matches. It is expected that the Winter Contingency event will feature challenges to unlock cosmetic items. However, a leak suggests that the event will only require players to play their first match of the day to earn the rewards.

Since the event is running for two weeks, 343 Industries may release new challenges in sections like the Fractured Tenrai event, but only ten reward levels have been revealed for now. The rewards feature emblems, banners, and weapon skins but may be subject to change since it is a leak.

The leaked reward track was revealed by "FireMonkey" on Twitter and can be seen below.

If the event only requires players to play in one match for the day, players will be able to unlock all ten rewards by playing during ten days of the event. This would be much easier for players to earn rewards than the previous event.

The Winter Contingency event may also introduce new game modes or have an exclusive playlist for the event. Winter Contingency comes out two weeks after Halo: Infinite's official launch, so there may be even more to the event than known. Halo: Infinite will expand the multiplayer playlists and add new game modes when it fully releases, so the event could be shaping up to be very interesting.
