Your Ancient Magic is what makes your character unique in the world around Hogwarts. It is a powerful skill to use in battle that quickly takes down your opponents. However, you must fill up your Ancient Magic meter to use it efficiently. You can increase your Ancient Magic meter by locating Ancient Magic Hotspots around the world and collecting the traces. Here's where to find them all and how to solve them.
How to solve Ancient Magic Hotspots in Hogwarts Legacy
Ancient Magic Hotspots are spread around the world outside of Hogwarts, and just like in the main story missions, you can investigate them to reveal hidden traces.
In each location, there will be a spot where you can investigate. Follow the trail of Ancient Magic until the ground begins to glow and the Investigate option pops up on your screen. Press X/Square to interact with it.
Once you investigate, it will reveal three Ancient Magic orb traces around the area. Each area will be different, but the mission is essentially the same: find all three orbs to solve the Hotspot. All you have to do is walk into the trace to collect it. You can use Revelio to help you find them a bit more easily.
What do you get for completing Ancient Magic Hotspots in Hogwarts Legacy?
Collecting Ancient Magic Traces is one of your challenges. Completing these little milestones will allow you to receive rewards. These rewards will give additional capacity to your Ancient Magic Meter, meaning you will be able to use your Ancient Magic more before it runs out.
All Ancient Magic Hotspot Locations in Hogwarts Legacy
Ancient Magic Hotspots are spread all over the World Map. There are twenty of them in total. You can locate them by the torch-like icons on your map. Here are all of their locations:
North Ford Bog Entrance
At the northern region of the World Map, just southwest of the North Ford Bog Entrance Floo in some ruins.
West Forbidden Forest
In the northwest region of the World Map, just southwest of the West Forbidden Forest Floo.
East North Hogwarts Region
West of Hogsmeade, between the East North Hogwarts Region Floo and the Collector's Cave Floo.
East Hogsmeade Valley
East of Hogsmeade, just southwest of the East Hogsmeade Valley Floo in some ruins.
West Hogwarts Valley
Southeast of the West Hogwarts Valley Floo on the hill in the ruins.
Southwest of the West Hogwarts Valley Floo on the edge of the cliff.

Central Hogwarts Valley
Southeast of the Central Hogwarts Valley Floo in some ruins.
Directly west of the Central Hogwarts Valley Floo and southwest of the Lower Hogsfield Floo.
Keensbridge
East of Keensbridge in the ruins across the river.
West of Keensbridge in the ruins.
Feldcroft
North of Feldcroft and northeast of Rookwood Castle on the water's edge.
East of Feldcroft near a Merlin Trial and north of the Feldcroft Catacombs.
Irondale
Just southwest of Irondale in some ruins.
Phoenix Mountain Cave
In the southern region of the World Map, south of the Phoenix Mountain Cave.
South Poidsear Coast
In the southern region of the World Map, directly south of South Poidsear Coast under the hill.
Marunweem Lake
In the southern region of the World Map, northeast of the Marunweem Lake Floo, due south of the Coastal Mines Floo.
Northwest of the Marunweem Lake Floo, directly east of the Marunweem Bridge Floo. On the eastern side of the bridge.
Cragcroft Shore
In the southern region of the World Map, southeast of the Cragcroft Shore Floo at the edge of the cliff along the water.
Brocburrow
Southeast of Hogwarts and just southeast of Brocburrow beside some spider lairs.
West Manor Cape
On the very southern part of the World Map, northeast of the West Manor Cape Floo in the ruins.
Once you track down all the Ancient Magic Hotspots and collect the traces, you can greatly increase your Ancient Magic meter. Soon enough, nothing will be able to stop you in battle. Keep a sharp eye and use Revelio as much as you need to find them all.
