Hogwarts Legacy: What is the boarded door in Hogsmeade used for?

Wondering what this mysteriously abandoned shop is in Hogsmeade? Well, you may just be able to explore it for yourself!

Hogsmeade is the best place to shop for supplies in Hogwarts Legacy, but it also has its fair share of secrets hidden around, waiting to be discovered. You may have stumbled upon the boarded-up shop, in particular, and wondered what exactly is the meaning behind it. This boarded shop may seem like nothing to any Xbox or PC users, but it is an exclusive opportunity for those on PlayStation. It may also just be one of the scariest quests available as well.

The boarded shop in Hogsmeade happens to be a part of an exclusive PlayStation quest, The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop, which means only players on PlayStation will be able to access it.

This quest begins by speaking to the house elf standing outside and essentially includes you purchasing your own shop from Madame Mason. However, things aren't all as they seem in this shop, and you'll stumble upon some spooky mishaps, such as cursed corridors and bewitched mannequins.

This quest also includes some exclusive content:

  • Additional Dungeon
  • Shopkeeper's Cosmetic Set
  • In-game Hogsmeade Shop

Will Xbox and PC get the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop?

According to the PlayStation official trailer for the quest, this quest will stay exclusive through February 10, 2024, which means it may eventually open up to other platforms after this date. Though there aren't any major guarantees this will be the case, we will update our content appropriately when there is more news on the subject. For now, there are plenty of other side quests and secrets for players to explore around the world.
