How to activate Potions in Hogwarts Legacy

To use potions in Hogwarts Legacy, you must first assign a potion in your quick slot. Once the potion is in your quick slot, you can then press Tab on PC, L1 on PS5, and LB on Xbox to activate the potion. As you are left vulnerable when using potions, you should time using them in combat when you have a moment to breathe.

How do Potions work in Hogwarts Legacy?

Any witch and wizard worth their magic in Hogwarts Legacy will use potions. They provide valuable buffs that can be a lifesaver when fighting challenging foes. At the start of the game, you will not be able to use potions until you complete the Welcome to Hogsmeade quest. This will give you access to the potion shop, J. Pippin's Potions.

Parry Pippin will buy and sell potions at his shop, but you cannot craft potions yourself until you complete another quest. This is the Potions Class quest. Once you complete these quests, you can purchase, sell, and craft potions.
