The multiplayer for Hogwarts Legacy has been in question for some time. The developers, Avalanche Software, have updated the Hogwarts Legacy FAQ with even more questions that continue to be asked. The multiplayer aspect is one of the questions that has just been added.
Unfortunately, there will be no multiplayer of any form in Hogwarts Legacy. To be clear, they said the game would be a single-player experience without any online or co-op gameplay.
The news surprised many fans, as many thought there would be servers for Quidditch or dueling. If the game does well, it is possible that Avalanche will include multiplayer, but it does not sound like there was ever a plan to include it.

Will Hogwarts Legacy ever get multiplayer?
If you want a multiplayer Hogwarts experience, the best thing you can do is to wait for the next Harry Potter game. We will probably see a multiplayer Harry Potter if Hogwarts Legacy does well. The reason we say this is because it almost happened before.
In an interview with former EA Director of Product Marketing Kim Salzer last year, Salzer revealed that a Harry Potter MMO was being developed. EA shut it down because they didn't think the success of the IP would last, which sounds ridiculous to us now. The success of this game may lead Warner Bros. to develop another Multiplayer game in the near future.
