Sony's March 2022 State of Play finally gave fans a ton of information for the Harry Potter Hogwarts Legacy video game. The presentation revealed if players will be controlling a named character from the series, or will be a brand new character. It is confirmed that you're playing as a customizable Avatar. You are not playing as a major named character from the Harry Potter lore.
Who is the character Avatar?
The game takes place in Hogwarts in the 1800s. The main character is a student who transferred to Hogwarts in their fifth year. The protagonist will be around 15 or 16 years old during the game. The main character's house, physical appearance, and personality are all up to you to decide.
Your goal in the game is to become a talented wizard by attending classes, meeting new people, and discovering different spells and potions. You can also get involved with major events that are happening within the wizardly world, including uncovering a Goblin uprising. You can meet a variety of different creatures too, including a Centaur.
