Honkai Star Rail Best Welt Build – Light Cones, Relics, & More!

Survive, or be destroyed.

The only character to truly carry over from Honkai Impact 3rd to Honkai: Star Rail (so far) is Welt. If that weren't enough of a reason for him to stand out as a character, he is currently the only character with the Imaginary element. If you draw him from the Gacha, I would consider you lucky. Want to know how to build him up to be a debuffing power house? Here's our best Welt build.

Best Light Cone for Welt in Honkai Star Rail

Undoubtedly, the best Light Cone for Welt is In the Name of the World, a five-star Light Cone designed specifically for him. In my opinion, it's the best Nihility Light Cone for any character. If you do draw this cone from the Gacha, we highly recommend you prioritize giving it to Welt, as it boosts his damage capability significantly.

Best free-to-play Light Cone for Welt

If you aren't lucky enough to get both Welt and his Cone, there are some other options you could try. Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat is a great Nihility Light Cone that essentially adds Defense Debuff to any Nihility characters arsenal. You could also use the Three-Star Light Cone, Loop. It won't have as high of base stats but can add up to 48% damage to slowed enemies, which Welt will naturally do. It's his thing.

Best Relics for Welt in Honkai Star Rail

Welt really wants the Wastelander of Banditry Desert, a Relic Set that boosts damage for imaginary characters, and damage to debuffed enemies. It can be farmed from the Path of Conflagration Cavern of Corrosion. Bear in mind that I don't recommend farming Relics until you've hit at least Equilibrium Level Five and can guarantee Five-Star Relics for the Trailblaze Power that you spend. In the mean time, you could use any basic damage oriented set, like the Thief of Shooting Meteor or the Musketeer of Wild Wheat set.

For Planar Ornaments, I can recommend either the Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise Set or the Talia: Kingdom of Banditry set. Welt can definitely make good use out of increased Effect Hit Rate as a Nihility character. Because his skill is a bounce skill, he'll also be useful for weakness breaks, and can make good use out of a Break Effect boost.

Which of Welts stats should you boost?

When thinking about Main Stats for you Relic Pieces, try to focus Welt's on boosting his debuff and breaking capability. The damage should come naturally.

  • Attack% or Speed
  • Effect Hit Rate
  • Imaginary Damage
  • Break Effect or Energy Regen Rate

Welt's Path and Element in Honkai Star Rail

As we stated earlier, Welt is the only Imaginary Character on the launch of Honkai: Star Rail. He is also a Nihility character who focuses on slowing and Imprisoning them via his Ultimate. You could consider him to be more of a debuff support character, but there is plenty of potential to build damage increases into his kit, enough to really make him more of a Sub-DPS unit, who also supports the team with very effective crowd control

Who pairs well with Welt in Combat?

As Den Heng's damage is boosted when attacking slowed characters, this makes the two of them natural partners. Any other Character who follows the path of The Hunt, like Seele or Sushang, will also appreciate Welt's ability to slow enemies and magnify their dominance in the speed category. Welt will also pair well with other Nihility Characters like Pela and Sampo when fighting in the Simulated Universe under the Path of Nihility.
