The biggest issue with Phantylia in Honkai: Star Rail is not that she’s undying. It’s the fact that many of us don’t live long enough to see her die. But don’t worry—I’m here to make sure that your next Phantylia battle is the last. Here’s how to defeat this Ravager of Destruction.
Honkai Star Rail - Phantylia battle tips and tricks
Phantylia has three phases. However, she only introduces one new move (an AoE in phase two) and nothing else. The challenge in this battle isn’t her: it’s the lotuses. With that in mind, you should only be adjusting your strategy when facing the flowers, not Phantylia herself. Dan Heng and Jing Yuan’s passive will get her eventually.
Best team comp vs Phantylia in Honkai Star Rail
Phantylia is weak to three elements: Lightning, Wind, and Imaginary. The best people to have in this battle are Blade, Welt, Sampo, Luocha, Bronya, and—oddly enough—Seele, despite her Quantum affinity. If you don’t have Luocha, you must bring Natasha. If you don’t have any of the DPSes I’ve mentioned above, bring a character with an element Phantylia is weak to, like Serval or Dan Heng.
You must also have a taunter and/or shielder on the team. Fire Trailblazer works best for me, but I’ve seen people clear the battle with March 7th as well. The latter can cleanse debuffs, too, so she works fine.
How to defeat Phantylia – first phase
In the first phase of this battle, the lotuses take your skill points when they get a turn. If you’re using a single-target DPS, you should focus your attacks on the lotuses. But if you have multi-target units like Sampo and Welt, trigger their skills so you can chip away at Phantylia’s HP too. Destroying a lotus will recover your skill points.
How to defeat Phantylia – second phase
In the second phase of Phantylia’s battle, the lotuses block a section of your HP bars. It’s not worth defeating them here just to prevent them from doing that. Instead, focus your attacks on Phantylia (or use multi-hit/AoE attacks). Use your cleanser unit(s) to remove the debuff from characters that have them. Luocha, Natasha, and March 7th can do the job, no problem.
If you're using Fire Trailblazer, you can use their skill to taunt the enemies into only targeting them for that debuff. This should help you manage the cleansing a little better. At higher Equilibrium levels, be sure they have enough Effect Hit Rate for their taunts to land.

How to defeat Phantylia – final phase
For Phantylia’s final phase, she summons both kinds of lotuses, making your life difficult. Here’s a quick rundown of the things you should be doing here:
- Use multi-hit, AoE, and Ultimates as much as possible for a chance to hit Phantylia. If you have Seele, you’re in luck. She can kill the lotuses pretty quickly.
- If you only have single target DPSes, remember what you did during the past two phases. Only hit the flowers that take skill points (the yellow ones) and ignore the black ones.
- If you have a character that can taunt the enemy, that should be the only skill they're using.
- Cleanse any character with the reduced-HP debuff ASAP. Even at higher levels, some of my units were knocked out just because I forgot to do this.
- If you can’t cleanse units in time, be sure they have a shield up to survive Phantylia’s AoE.
As long as you avoid dying, Lightning Lord and Dan Heng will slowly whittle down Phantylia’s HP for you.
