In games, we sometimes encounter missions meant to take place at a specific time of day. Sometimes, it is also just easier to complete certain tasks at a particular time, like when you are under cover of darkness. With that being said, here is how to change the time of day in Horizon Forbidden West.

To do this, you will want to make your way to one of the Shelters, where you can save and craft items and upgrade your weapons.

Once you have gone in, approach near the campfire, and you will see a clock symbol to change the time of day. You'll sit down on a stool, and you have the option to Progress Time or to leave. By selecting Progress Time, you have four options to choose from:

  • Morning
  • Afternoon
  • Evening
  • Night

There are many places to take cover within Forbidden West, but nightfall is the best way to get around any patrolling tribes or deadly machines that are roaming the land.

On the other hand, sometimes missions are easier to complete when the sunlight brightens your way.

Any enemies that have taken cover are easier to spot due to the contrast in lighting, and so both daytime and nighttime have their strong suits where the mission approach is concerned.
