Materials are an essential element to the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, as these are used to purchase upgrades for your playable characters, as well as a plethora of other things. As you play through Age of Calamity, you'll realize you need many of these materials as you progress. However, there is one thing that will help you!
Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Sheikah Sensor
To unlock the Sheikah Sensor in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, you must reach chapter 2; you'll receive a quest called Needed: Researchers in the Akkala region. Turn in the required materials, and you'll unlock the Sheikah Sensor.
For the Needed: Researchers quest, you need to turn in 200 Bokoblin Trophies, 50 Lizalfos Trophies, and 1,000 rupees. You should have the required number of these just by playing through the title until you reach this quest. If not, go out and slay these monsters to get the parts. Turn in the said materials, and you'll have unlocked the Sheikah Sensor.
If you encounter a quest that requires an item you do not have or have limited quantities of so you can't complete the quest. This is where the Sheikah Sensor comes into play. Highlight the quest which is missing materials. You'll know if you are missing materials because the number of items needed will be red instead of white.
You'll have the option to register the quest by hitting the X button; though you can only register two quests at a time, you can track up to six materials in those two quests. If you want to remove the Sheikah Sensor, hit X again on the quest, and the quest will be removed.
Once a quest has been tracked from the map, you'll notice a green sensor icon on some missions. These missions are the ones you have to complete to get one of the missing materials. After you have obtained the requiring number of missing materials, a notification will pop up to inform you.
You can also track items manually, if you want a specific number kept in your stores for, say, cooking or the like, and once again, you can have six materials tracked. To do this, hit the R button on the map screen, and cycle through the page until you get to the Materials menu.
On this menu, you can sort through the materials you have unlocked. Once you find the material you want to track, just hit the X button, and like tracking a quest. A green sensor will appear on the quests that have these materials.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity gameplay is very different from BotW; however, some elements remain, such as parrying. You can eat to heal to regain health, but it's changed as you cannot cook meals mid-game and then pause to eat everything in sight! Oh, don't worry, you can still shield surf!
