Why can’t I create a character in Lost Ark

Lost Ark is a free-to-play MMO officially launching on Feb. 11, 2022. But those who purchased a Founder's Pack gained early access and were able to play starting Feb. 8, 2022. In that time, many players eagerly awaited playing Lost Ark. Unfortunately, some may not be able to join their early access friends.

Smilegate RPG intends to limit character creation for players joining Lost Ark on Feb. 11, 2022. Several servers with too long a queue time will not let new players join and create a character. This means they will be unable to join their friends on that server who have already played. You can read about this more on the Lost Ark official forums.

How do I create a character in Lost Ark

However, there is a way to create a character and play Lost Ark. You will have to go to a different server that is listed as Good or Busy in the Status column. If you see Cannot Create in the character column, you will not be able to create a character, nor join that server.

If you have a friend on a server that you cannot create a character on, you will not be able to play together on that server. They can create a character on a different server that you are able to play on, though. Until queue times are resolved, this is the only way to play with friends who have characters on full servers.
