Why can’t I download Lost Ark? Steam app not released

We just want to play Lost Ark.

Lost Ark is being developed by Smilegate RPG and published by Amazon Games. It releases on Feb. 11, with early access starting on Feb. 8. Those looking forward to the game can pre-load it so it's ready to play. However, those looking forward to the game may be confused if they are receiving a message that says the Steam app is not released.

Players cannot download Lost Ark and are receiving this message because the game is not yet live. While players can pre-load Lost Ark, there is a separate update that can only be downloaded once the game has gone live.

Lost Ark launch has been delayed

Smilegate has posted an update that the Lost Ark launch has been delayed. This may take a few hours or longer, but they have been consistent with keeping all of us informed about what is happening, so we're sure we'll hear something more soon.

Why are Lost Ark severs down?

Lost Ark early access is now over, and it is down for maintenance to get ready for the free-to-play release. This will take up to four hours on an estimate. During this time, you cannot login or connect to any servers until this maintenance is over.

Maintenance began and ends at the following times:

Update Feb. 8

The issue was previously due to the patch not being live, but now the issue seems to be due to connection timeouts to the Steam server. This is likely a result of many players attempting to download the game at one time. We will monitor the situation and update this post with more information when it is available.

The developers are aware of the issue and are working to fix it now. You can follow their official Lost Ark Twitter page for more updates.

What time does Lost Ark early access go live/become playable?

This means that players will have to wait until Lost Ark goes live at 9am PT / 12pm ET on Feb. 8, 2022. However, once Lost Ark goes live, players can download the update and finally get into the early access if they have purchased a Founder's Pack.

While this can be frustrating to those looking forward to the game, Lost Ark will be ready to play once the update has been downloaded. So sit back and relax until it goes live!
