In Marvel Snap, the Discard archetype is all about playing your odds on which cards will be discarded and attempting to manipulate those odds in your favor. This is especially the case in Hela decks, which look to discard all of their high-cost cards except for Hela herself. This can be a tricky business, with many games coming down to a coin flip on whether Hela dodges a discard trigger. However, while the deck does struggle at times with its consistency, in games where Hela survives until turn six, the deck can swing almost any game in its favor.
The highest winrate Hela deck in Marvel Snap
- Zabu
- Lady Sif
- Swordmaster
- Jubilee
- Sandman
- Ghost Rider
- Hell Cow
- Captain Marvel
- Hela
- The Infinaut
- Death
According to marvelsnapzone.com's meta breakdown and deck tier list, this Hela deck is the highest winrate Hela deck and a Tier Four deck. The deck features a high curve, as is the case with many Hela decks. With no card lower than three Energy, it can struggle against aggro matchups.
The deck's strength lies in throwing down Marvel Snap's Zabu card on turn three and playing an explosive turn four with two four Cost cards. Your best follow-up after Zabu will entirely depend on the state of your hand, but Jubilee into Sandman is an incredibly strong line of play that shuts down opposing Zabu decks as well as the current meta terror in Silver Surfer.
At first, it may seem strange to include an unplayable card like Death in this list, but Death serves as the best Lady Sif target in the deck due to her cost of nine Energy. This allows Lady Sif to be played even when Hela is in hand, as Lady Sif will target Death over all other cards.
Captain Marvel is another unique choice here, but her strength lies in her ability to steal games by moving to a winning spot on the board. Hela suffers from her own ability being random and potentially placing the cards she summons in a poor position. Captain Marvel can remedy this by launching herself to a location, potentially mitigating Hela's misplays.
Sandman is by far the most glaring choice in the deck, as Sandman is typically a very weak card. However, he currently shuts down two of the meta's top archetypes in Zabu and Silver Surfer. Both of these archetypes love playing out multiple cards a turn, including regularly playing out three cards on turn six. Sandman stops both of these strategies in their tracks.
