The best Omega Red deck in Marvel Snap

Make the Omega the alpha.

Perhaps what Marvel Snap is best known for when it comes to its cards is how diverse some of their effects can be. While there are certainly effects that are close in nature, such as Marvel Snap's Patriot and Cerebro card's buffs, in many cases card effects are drastically varying from one another. Take Omega Red for example, who has the Ongoing effect of giving four Power to locations he is not in if you are winning his location by 10 or more power. No other card has this effect, and while it can be very hard to activate it, the addition of Zabu has given rise to a deck that can actually leverage Omega Red's effect.

This deck has a lot of different paths to winning a game, and this is what makes it a powerful deck for Omega Red to call home. In the past, Omega Red decks tried to build entirely around Omega Red himself. However, the reality is that this strategy was inconsistent, and even when pulled off, it wasn't particularly strong.

This is where Zabu and the Ghost Rider/Dracula Discard package comes into play. With Zabu, you can play out Omega Red on turn four alongside another one of your four Cost cards, making it a tempo gain rather than what would normally be a tempo loss playing Omega Red alone. Furthermore, this deck excels at putting a ton of power into a location through Ghost Rider and Dracula, who each can put upwards of 20 or more power into a single spot. This makes activating Omega Red's effect much more of a breeze than what is normally required.

This deck is easy to pick up but hard to master. Your strategy is to get Sunspot or Zabu down in the early game to start generating value. Conversely, depending on your hand Lady Sif can be played out on turn three, and sometimes should be played over other cards if Ghost Rider is also in hand. If you get Zabu down on turn three, you'll be looking to get two four Cost cards into play the following turn, making for a huge swing.

Though the deck is typically looking to play cards every turn, do not underestimate the power of a turn five play nothing and let Sunspot grow into a turn six Infinaut play, especially when you're ahead on board. Throwing Infinaut into Omega Red's lane or into a lane you're currently losing can easily swing the game in your favor and surprise the opponent.

Lastly, perhaps the toughest decision to make with the deck is when to play out Hell Cow. Sometimes, even if your hand won't benefit much from it, the best option is to Hell Cow on turn four if you got Zabu down on turn three. The tempo swing of Hell Cow and another four Cost card is usually too good to pass up. However, if you can play out other cards and afford to hold Hell Cow, sometimes this is the best decision, especially if you can play Hell Cow and Ghost Rider together on the final turn for a huge surprise burst of power.
