Minecraft is a dangerous world filled with all matter of ghosts and ghouls that haunt the cold nights. It is also quite hazardous to deal with most mobs early on in the game, but luckily there is a way to get some strong animal protection through taming a polar bear. Polar bears are a unique mob that can also be ridden and attack hostile mobs similar to a golem. That said, if you keep reading, we will explain how and where you can tame a polar bear in Minecraft.
Everything you need to know on how to tame a Polar bear in Minecraft
In short, to tame a polar bear in Minecraft, you will need to locate one in a snowy biome, and you will need fish. The first part is perhaps the hardest as polar bears can spawn rarely, and when they do spawn, they will spawn in groups of up to four.
Typically the group will contain adult polar bears, but they will sometimes be guarding a cub; you will want to go after the baby polar bear as the adults will attack you if you get near it and if you get near them.
Because of this, you will need to look for one that is alone; when you find one, walk up to it and give it fish by using the following controls listed below until hearts show up.
- PS4: Use L2 to feed the polar bear fish.
- PC: Right-click to feed the polar bear fish.
- Switch: Press ZL to tame the polar bear fish.
- Xbox: Press LT to feed the polar bear fish.
You will need to feed the polar bear a lot of fish, and it will take a bit for you to tame it. We recommend bringing a lot of fish. But if you don't know where to get fish, you can do so by casting a fishing rod into a body of water. When you get a sizeable amount of fish, just head back to the polar bear and start feeding it!
