How to get Aeonian Coal in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak

Loretta Lynn would be proud.

There's virtually no end to the content to enjoy within Monster Hunter Rise. This holds especially true with the release of the Sunbreak expansion which added monsters, new items, maps, and so much more. When not hunting monsters, players can take in the beautiful scenery of each location as they harvest unique new items like Aeonian Coal.

Aeonian Coal is an account item found in Scorched Ore within the Lava Caverns on Master Rank hunts or expeditions.

Hunters will likely encounter Aeonian Coal for the first time in response to the quest Cool Coal Discovery! in Elgado. Flur the Sailor requests that hunters deliver three Aeonian Coal to camp during a mission. Completing the quest will award Outfit Vouchers and the Watchdog's Howl+.

Account items in Monster Hunter Rise are rare gathering spots that are unique to a location. Collecting them will award the hunter with a significant sum of Kamura Points. These points can then be used as an alternative currency for things like ordering Dango. They're not used in crafting, and unless a player is desperate for points (which you never should be), they can be gathered passively while on the hunt for other items or monsters.
