Where to find Gunpowderfish in Monster Hunter World

You can find gunpowder fish by fishing in specific locations in Monster Hunter World. There are over three locations where you can reliably find gunpowderfish. At these locations, you can find gunpowder fish using either a capture net or a fishing pole like other fish such as Platinum fish. Here are the most accessible places to farm gunpowderfish in Monster Hunter World.

Rotten Vale

You can farm gunpowderfish in area nine of the Rotten Vale region.

Coral Highlands

Area seven is the best place to farm gunpowderfish in the Coral Highlands region.

Elder's Recess 

You can farm gunpowderfish reliably by visiting the water source at the Eastern Camp (area 8). 

How to farm gunpowder fish fast in Monster Hunter World 

If you want farm for gunpowderfish fast, I recommend picking one location like the Eastern Camp in Elder Recess. Choose the location you want to farm, and keep reloading after catching all fish in the pound. You can reload by finishing the expedition and starting a new one by visiting the region via the world map.

How to use gunpowder fish in Monster Hunter World

If you are wondering why you need gunpowder fish, it's to get gunpowderfish scales. You can later use any Gunpowder fish scales you find to make mega barrel bombs. Mega barrel bombs are more powerful than normal bombs, so making as many as possible is recommended. You can also use these Mega Barrel Bombs to help take down powerful monsters by placing them near and igniting the barrel.
