Valorant Character Producer says that the next agent will be similar to Sova

Can he replace Sova?

In the latest State of the Agent Blogpost, Valorant Character Producer John Gosiccki dropped several hints about the next upcoming agent in the game. The next upcoming character will be akin to an Initiator, with localized recon and information-gathering abilities that are quite similar to Sova.

The post on Valorant's website vividly describes how, within their design team, there have been numerous discussions over the past year about Sova and replicating a character with similar abilities. Indeed, Valorant's tactical gameplay is based on position awareness and information gathering. Gosiccki goes on to say that the next Agent will give players an "intimate feeling when hunting down enemies."

The post also contained an image of a coffee/tea cup with pictures of Sova and Cypher on the screen. It looks like the new character is trying to hunt down both the agents. The blog post ended with a Turkish caption, "Herkesin bir korkusu var," which translates to "everyone has a fear."

When will the next agent be released in Valorant?

Neon joined the Valorant roster during Episode 4, Act 1. Looking at the pattern of character releases from Riot Games, you can expect the new character to drop in Episode 4, Act 3.
