How to split item stacks in Nightingale

Leave some weight behind!

It's important to stay stocked up on items in Nightingale, but when your inventory becomes too full, you'll want to place some of those items down to create space for more, so knowing how to split your stacks is essential. Here's how to do it!

Nightingale How to split stacks of items

Items automatically stack in your inventory when you pick them up from the world, which makes it easy to organize, but if you want only to use a little bit of those items or store half of them, you'll want a way to split those stacks. Unfortunately, you can only do so while moving items to another storage or crafting station.

While at a storage container or crafting station (such as the campfire), you can grab the item you want to split from your Inventory and pull it over to a slot on the other menu. While doing so, hold Shift to split the stack and adjust the slider with the quantity you'd like to move.

This will make it easier to leave some items behind in storage while only carrying a few for crafting or taking with you on your journey. However, if you drag them back over with the other stack, items will automatically conjoin again, but I would suggest always leaving some in storage rather than carrying it all in your Inventory anyway. You can even move the storage close to a crafting station for easy use.

The developers might add in another way to sort items and split stacks in the future since they already teased that they will be adding crafting from storage as well. For now, try to keep stuff organized in storage and only carry what you need on you.
