Nintendo Switch Sports, the successor to Nintendo Wii Sports, was released on April 29, 2022. Switch Sports features six sports games at launch: Tennis, Bowling, Chambara, Soccer, Badminton, and Volleyball. The game is defined by its use of motion controls, but you may be wondering if there is a way to turn them off.

Can players turn off motion controls in Nintendo Switch Sports?

Since this game is heavily centered around simulating the realistic movements in these sports, players cannot turn off motion controls. While this means that Nintendo Switch Lite players cannot use their built-in controllers to play the game, there is still a way to play on the Lite. To do so, all players need to do is connect external Joy-Cons to the Nintendo Switch Lite.

Nintendo Switch Sports features both online and local multiplayer. All players need to do to begin playing with their friends and family is connect to the internet for online multiplayer or connect a second Joy-Con for local play. Since motion controls are such a large part of the game, make sure to use the Joy-Con's safety strap so that it doesn't go flying at your TV screen.
