No Man's Sky was released in 2016 with mixed reviews but has since gone on to become a gem within the gaming community. An abundance of free major content updates seems to have redeemed both No Man's Sky and Hello Games from that troublesome launch. But in all the content that was added, did the developer have the foresight to include support for cross-platform play?
Does No Man's Sky support cross-platform play?
Beginning June 10, 2020, Hello Games moved No Man's Sky over to an entirely new networking architecture and enabled cross-platform play. This allowed players from any platform (Xbox, PC, PlayStation) to play with one another. With ambient multiplayer on the Space Anomaly, in space, or on planets, players can be matched with others from any platform.
Cross-platform support seems to be the way that gaming is heading. The fires of the console wars are slowly dying down and players are more concerned about being able to play with friends, regardless of which platform they chose. For a list of other VR titles like No Man's Sky that support cross-play, PGG has you covered.
