When you study gaming trend patterns from the past few years, you will find a common occurrence where some old and unpopular games will suddenly become the talk of the town. One such unknown title is trending thanks to popular streamers like Dr. Disrespect and Tim the Tatman is Only Up! Apart from being promoted by big streamers, the game itself was being loved and adored by thousands of casual audiences due to its addictive and funny gameplay that resembles the popular game - Getting Over It. While the game was gaining momentum, unfortunately, on June 30, 2023, due to some unknown reason, the title was removed from Steam Store by its developers SCKR Games.
Though there is no official clarification from the makers, several gamers on Reddit and other discussion forums have made some predictions.
Why was Only Up! banned from Steam?
According to several Redditors and official tweets made by several people, the game has been temporarily removed from the Steam store due to the use of stolen Art Assets, especially that of a giant girl model called Waifu Girl. Apparently, the developers have used these models available on several 3D model websites like Sketchfab inside their game without appropriate commercial permission from the artist, which led to their cancellation.
When will Only Up! return to Steam?
The latest update is that the developers have replaced these models with other legal assets. Still, there is no official date or time for the return of Only Up! to the Steam Store. At this moment, we are waiting for an announcement from the developers regarding the status of the game or whether it may debut in rival stores like Epic Games. Even now, if you click on the link of Only Up! from Google search results, it will redirect you to the Steam homepage.
