Overwatch is one of Blizzard's newest IPs but has already gained popularity that rivals the Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft franchises. With that being said, many fans may be wondering about the game's future with the recent acquisition by Microsoft and if the game will be coming to Gamepass.
Unfortunately, there isn't a definite answer to this question. Microsoft issued a press release stating, "The acquisition also bolsters Microsoft's Game Pass portfolio with plans to launch Activision Blizzard games into Game Pass." This acquisition won't be complete until 2023, so it will be sometime before either title is on Gamepass.

Microsoft tends to put its own games and those of developers it acquires on Game Pass. But this doesn't necessarily mean it will happen immediately. The original Overwatch may be added to Gamepass, but Overwatch 2 may not be added at launch.
This will be speculation until more information is announced, but it would be great news for Overwatch fans. There is plenty of time for this information to be revealed. We will update this post if more information is revealed!
Announcements of Microsoft's planned acquisition of Blizzard and Activision came on Jan. 18, 2022, when Microsoft's CEO Phil Spencer released a statement. It details how the company plans to incorporate the games of Blizzard and Activision into their own. The acquisition is estimated to be completed in 2023.
This also comes in around the numerous scandals, accusations, and lawsuits that Activision/Blizzard has received. Therefore, it could be speculated that this acquisition is also intended to restore the company's names and deal with the various issues within the company.
