There are a total of seven Steel-type moves in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and they all can be used to great effect in battle. With the change in how stat raising moves work, as well as many changes to the secondary effects of attacking moves, many recurring moves work even better in the game. The best moves depend on the Pokémon learning it, but generally, they are Steel Beam and Iron Head. There are many choices, however, so weighing your options is important.
Physical Steel Moves
An argument can be made for using Iron Tail over Iron Head but more often than not, Iron Head is the better choice. The move has more PP than Iron Tail and has 100 Accuracy. Secondary to both of these, Bullet Punch is a low damaging Steel-type move that will raise the user's Action Speed. Combined with Agile Style, this move can make even the slowest Pokémon able to move multiple times in a row.
- Bullet Punch - Physical Steel move with 40 Power, 100 Accuracy, and 20 PP. Using the move will increase the user's Action Speed
- Iron Head - Physical Steel move with 80 Power, 100 Accuracy, and 10 PP. No secondary effect in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
- Iron Tail - Physical Steel move with 100 Power, 75 Accuracy, and 5 PP. Can lower a Pokémon's defensive stats when hit.

Special Steel Moves
There are only two Special Steel-type moves in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and both are very powerful. Flash Cannon does reliable damage and has a larger reserve of PP while Steel Beam has higher damage but lower PP.
- Flash Cannon - Special Steel move with 80 Power, 100 Accuracy, and 10 PP. Can lower a Pokémon's defensive stats when hit.
- Steel Beam - Special Steel move with 120 Power, 95 Accuracy, and 5 PP. The user takes recoil damage of 33 percent of damage dealt.
Status Steel Moves
The two Status Steel-type moves in Pokémon Legends: Arceus both raise the defensive stats the Pokémon but differ slightly in their effects. Iron Defense will raise the defensive stats by two stages whereas Shelter will raise defensive stats by one stage but makes it easier for moves to miss the Pokémon. Iron Defense has 20 PP and Shelter has 10.
