Can your Pokémon follow you in Pokémon Legends Arceus?

Bonds between Pokemon just don't seem to be there yet.

In many of the Pokémon games throughout the years, we could let our Pokémon follow us as we travel throughout the world. This optional mechanic showed up most recently in the Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl remake, even though the original games didn't let us. Naturally, players are curious to know if Pokémon can follow you in Arceus.

Unfortunately, the answer is no, they can't follow you. Game Freak, the game's development company, has provided no details about why they left this beloved mechanic out of the game. Regardless of the reason, the fact that this option is missing from a game the focuses on open-world exploration comes as a surprise and a letdown to many players.

There is no speculation on whether it will eventually be added to the game like they did for Pokémon Sword & Shield. With no DLC (downloadable content) on the horizon, it seems having your Pokémon follow you around the map won't be an option soon. Instead, players who wish to let their Pokémon out of the Ball occasionally must take them to the campsites scattered throughout the world.
