How to release Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus wants you to travel across the Hisui region and complete the first-ever Pokédex. This requires players to catch multiple of a single type of Pokémon, which will very quickly fill up your Pastures. Since there is a limited amount of space in Pastures, you will need to free up some space every once and a while. Here is how you can release Pokémon from your Pastures.

How to release a Pokémon

You can release Pokémon as soon as you unlock access to the Pastures in Jubilife Village. Speaking to the NPC at any of the Pastures will allow you to swap Pokémon in and out of your party as well as choose Pokémon to release. When accessing your Pastures, all you need to do to release a Pokémon is to select the one you would like to like to let go, scroll down the list of options, and select release. You will also be able to perform these same actions when out on Expeditions by interacting with the NPC located at Base Camps.

How to mass release Pokémon

Because the game requires players to catch multiple of the same Pokémon, there is an option to mass release Pokémon. After you fill up at least four Pastures with Pokémon, this option will become available when accessing your Pastures. Just press X to begin selecting all the Pokémon you want to get rid of and select confirm. COnsiquentially, all of the Pokémon you selected will be removed from your pastures and be released back into the wild.
