Pokémon Legends: Arceus has reinvented what a Pokémon game is, changing up not only the gameplay mechanics, but also the Pokémon world itself. This game delves more into the Pokémon universe and its mysteries that have baffled the community to this day. Here is the basic plot of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is set in a version of Sinnoh long before the events of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl take place. The region is known as Hisui during this time period and is reminiscent of feudal Japan. The player, who is from the Sinnoh region, gets teleported back in time to the Hisui region when they fall out of a space-time rift in the sky.
Players first meet Professor Laventon, who asks for your assistance in creating the first-ever Pokédex. In your quest to complete this Pokédex, you will work out of Jubilife Village, the town that eventually prospers into the bustling metropolis of the Sinnoh region, Jubilife City. You will join Galaxy Team as a part of the Survey Corps, tasked with exploring the Hisui region and all of its Pokémon.
As you journey farther into the Hisui region, you will become more involved with the leaders of the Diamond and Pearl Clans—eventually finding yourself drawn into the mysteries of Pokémon and the mysterious space-time rift that you fell from. Only when you complete the land's first-ever Pokédex, will you uncover the mysterious Arceus, a god Pokémon who claims to be responsible for creating all other Pokémon, as well as why it was the one who sent you back in time through the rift.
So there you have it, that is a brief summary of the story in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The quest to find out Arceus and discover why you were sent back in time won't be an easy one, but there will be help along the way for those who need it.
