What is Pawmot weak to in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Pawmot is the only Electric/Fighting-type Pokémon, so you may not be used to its weaknesses and resistances. It also has great Speed and Attack, allowing it to outpace many Pokémon and strike first. With its hidden ability, Iron Fist, it can do some serious damage, meaning you'll want to use a Pokémon that is strong against it. Here are Pawmot's weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

  • Ground - 2x Weak
  • Psychic - 2x Weak
  • Fairy - 2x Weak

How to counter Pawmot in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pawmot can be a real pain to deal with due to its unique typing, stats, and coverage moves. It can learn Ice Punch to threaten Ground-types, as well as Crunch and Metal Claw for Psychic and Fairy-types. Additionally, its signature move, Double Shock, removes its Electric-type, getting rid of any Ground advantages.

Due to Double Shock, we recommend going with Fairy or Psychic Pokémon such as Hatterene, Armarouge, and Ghothitelle. These will easily counter its Fighting-type, and they have solid bulk to withstand hits. For Ground-type Pokémon, your best option is Palossand, as its Ghost/Ground-type combination makes it immune to most of Pawmot's attacks. Other choices would be Hippodon, Sandaconda, Mudsdale, Donphan, and Gastrodon.
