Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are shaping up to be the biggest titles in the Pokémon series, featuring a full open world and deviating from the linearity for which the series is known. However, some questions remain unanswered, like whether there are shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Does Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have shiny Pokémon?
It seems that shiny Pokémon are making a return in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Seriibi, a reputable source for Pokémon, reports that they encountered a shiny Skiddo during their preview playtime. They state, "I was climbing up a cliffside and when I made it to the top, I just saw a shiny Skiddo amongst some other Pokémon."
This indicates that players can identify shiny Pokémon in the overworld, making it much easier to spot and find them. Seriibi did go on to say that they weren't sure if there was a visual or auditory cue to show that a Pokémon is shiny, so you should pay close attention to any Pokémon you believe may be shiny.
While this was an expected feature to return, it is good to get some confirmation. Shiny hunting is a long-treasured pastime in the Pokémon series, and few players will forget encountering their first shiny.
