What are the best natures for Reshiram in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

You should choose either of the following natures for Reshiram in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet:

  • Hasty (+Speed, -Defense)
  • Modest (+Sp. Attack, -Attack)

Reshiram is a Dragon/Fire-type with high Special Attack and Special Defense. Like Zekrom, increasing its Speed stat with the Hasty nature will help it outspeed slower opponents and fire off as many attacks as possible. Its Defense is decent but not great, so you won't be missing out on much by reducing it.

On the other hand, you can choose to focus solely on Reshiram's offensive power with the Modest nature. While Reshiram does have high Attack, its Special Attack is even greater, making it the more optimal stat to increase. Furthermore, Fusion Flare—Reshiram's signature move—is an extremely powerful Special that takes full advantage of that base 150 Special Attack.

How to choose the best nature in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

When deciding on a nature for your Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, you'll want to highlight Pokémon's strengths by picking natures that best suit its intended role on your team.

For example, Reshiram is an offensive powerhouse, so you're better off augmenting its Speed or Special Attack rather than its defensive stats. On the other hand, a Pokémon like Iron Boulder does well with a defensive nature that emphasizes its high Special Defense.
