Glitch lets you climb walls by going backwards in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

It's not cheating if it isn't technically a bug!

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet is Nintendo's first open-world mainline Pokémon game. And if other open-world games like Breath of the Wild have anything to say, there are lots of walls and cliffs to scale. Unless Koraidon and Miraidon have recovered enough to climb these cliffs, you can never climb them. That is unless you take advantage of this odd "glitch" that lets you climb walls by going backward.

Your left joycon might suffer a little from it, but you can climb cliffs by rotating Koraidon or Miraidon and going up the cliff hind wheel first. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Get close to the wall or cliff you want to climb. Really press the side of your Koraidon or Miraidon’s bike onto the incline.
  2. While on Koraidon or Miraidon, press B to jump.
  3. While on the air, turn Koraidon or Miraidon around quickly. You’ll know you’ve succeeded if the hind wheel points upwards.
  4. Spam B while in this position while tilting the joycon backward. If this doesn’t work, try tilting the joycon backward only when Koraidon or Miraidon jumps and flick it forward once they land.

Important note: This “glitch” will only work if the wall you’re climbing is inclined. If the wall is too vertical, this method will not work.

It’ll take some practice, but you’ll be able to climb many unscalable walls early in the game. If you’re on a personal challenge to speedrun Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you’re more than welcome to try this on your own.
