How to evolve Fomantis into Lurantis in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

There's always room for more grass types!

Fans of grass-type Pokémon are bound to have a Fomantis on their team. It's small, cute, and available to catch in the newest Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Not only can you catch one for yourself, but you can also evolve it into the beautiful, moth-like Lurantis. Doing so is a little bit tricky because it isn't as straightforward as simply leveling up Fomantis or even applying an evolutionary stone to them. If you've been trying to evolve your Fomantis for some time but haven't had any luck or don't know how to trigger the process, keep reading!

How to get Lurantis in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

A lot of trainers are so focused on battling and catching that evolving their Pokémon might be a bit of an afterthought. This is especially so if there is a specific kind of requirement like waiting to level them up during the day or at night. Fomantis is one of these Pokémon. You can evolve them into Lurantis starting at level 34 but there's a catch: you need to make sure that this happens at night.

If Fomantis levels up to level 34 but it isn't at night, then you'll need to wait until the following night cycle and level them up again. Once you do, a cutscene will begin in which you will have Lurantis added to both your party and your Pokédex. It would be wise to ensure that your Fomantis has the nature that you desire before doing this so that Lurantis can also have this same nature.
